The present work aims to provide a modest historical-archaeological contribution concerning an area between the municipal territories of the Agrigentine Province of Sciacca and Menfi which for centuries, especially in the imperial and late-ancient ages, had an important role under the strategic aspect. and cheap. Ѐ thanks to the research carried out in the field that it was possible to proceed with the superficial collection of the ceramic, characterized by different chronologies, which was deposited at the Superintendency BB.CC.AA of Agrigento in the future hope of being able to carry out more in-depth studies. The sources, only in a few eloquent cases, give us some information but, more often than not, only of a geographical or etymological character in order to be able to outline a historical picture of the Valley and its river, the Carboj.
