Description: It is the smallest island of the Egadi Islands. Some caves overlook the coast, the best known of which is the Grotta del Genovese, one of the most important archaeological sites in Italy, with its rock engravings and paintings dating back to the Upper Paleolithic (9680 BC).
Furthermore, in the stretch of water in front of Cala Minnola, on the eastern side of the island of Levanzo, there is one of the most important submerged archaeological sites in Sicily which consists of the wreck of a Roman ship and the remains of the load of amphorae and fragments of pottery that they lie at a depth of about 27 meters.
It is included in the Egadi Islands marine nature reserve
