Fortified settlement of Monte del Bosco
The site extends on the top of a mountain straddling the palmese basin and the valley of the Himera river basin. On the southern side there are the remains of fortification walls from the Greek age. Therefore the site is located in the same optical axis that starts from the South-West with Castellazzo di Palma and Piano della Città-Terravecchia and then continues towards the North-East with Monte Saraceno di Ravanusa, the Rocca di Naro and Castellazzo di Camastra. Furthermore, on the slopes there are artificial cave tombs from the Castelluccian era which testify to the frequentation of the area even in the previous era.
