Settlement of Contrada Terravecchia-Modaccamo

The site, characterized by hills and valleys, is well known for the discovery of the Roman marble sarcophagus with the myth of Kore today in the Regional Archaeological Museum of Agrigento. The presence of ceramic fragments with a high concentration density and the discovery of
coins, small marble columns and capitals, ivory objects, bricks and clay pipes used in the construction of vaults in Roman structures; there are also remains of wall structures and a plastered cistern from the Roman age. Also of note is the discovery of prehistoric ceramics from the horizon of Capo Graziano (ancient Bronze Age) and of the Ausonius. Bronze / Roman Age - XNUMXth-XNUMXth century BC / II-IV century. A.D
