Description

Settlement of Capo Rossello

The site covers a large area at an altitude of approx. 80 meters above sea level, sloping down towards the west coast of Capo Rossello. In the area, on the surface, we note the presence of ceramic fragments from various periods (prehistoric, Greek and medieval) and wall structures, niches and an artificial cave excavated
in the rock. Following a short excavation campaign conducted in 2004 by the Superintendency BB.CC.AA of Agrigento, the remains of a settlement from the Hellenistic era were brought to light, planted on the site of the previous prehistoric necropolis
