The places included in the IWB:

Birthplace, via Castrofilippo 1, Palermo
Giovanni Falcone was born in Palermo on May 18, 1939 in via Castrofilippo 1, in a house, later demolished in 1959, overlooking Piazza Magione, in the heart of the ancient Kalsa district, "with its sumptuous and elegant buildings, palm trees and that atmosphere that every moment brought back to the Arab origins of the neighborhood …… .Not far from there lived some of the most bloodthirsty bosses that he would have pursued during his career as a magistrate ”(Maria Falcone, 2012). The house where he was born, decorated with frescoes and tapestries on the walls, belonged to Pietro Bonanno, his grandmother's brother, beloved mayor of Palermo from 1904 until the day of his untimely death, in 1905. "He had been Councilor for Public Works and the city for longer she was always very grateful to him, so much so that she dedicated streets and villas to him ... ... Among other things, she had made the way to the sanctuary of Santa Rosolia passable, completed the Teatro Massimo, opened the baths in the sea for the poor and carried out projects for the construction of a hospital… .. This uncle was therefore a model and a reason for family pride ”(Maria Falcone, 2012). His father Arturo, mutilated by war, was the director of the Provincial Chemical Laboratory, his mother, Luisa Bentivegna, was the daughter of a well-known gynecologist in the city. Stefania, paternal aunt, was a talented musician. Aunt Carmela is a talented painter. The family context sensitive to cultural and civil values decisively influenced the formation of the young Falcone.

National Boarding School, Piazza Sett'Angeli, 3 Palermo
Little Giovanni attended elementary school at the National Boarding School, in a majestic school building from the second half of the 600s, opposite the apses of the Cathedral.
An excellent report card by the student Falcone, found by a former pupil, Valeria Giarrusso, in the archives of the Institute in 1998 (subsequently delivered as a gift to the UN Secretary General), inspired the story "My match" by Giuseppe Cadili, from which the film "Convitto Falcone" was taken (directed by Pasquale Scimeca, presented in 2012 at the Venice Film Festival)
The Institute, formerly named after King Vittorio Emanuele of Savoy, was dedicated to Judge Falcone in 1999. The happy discovery of the report card and the naming of the school stimulate students to practice values and ideals that emanate from the life of the magistrate and also fully express the IWB dictates.

In the years of Giovanni Falcone's youth “… .. oratories were important meeting places for children. There they could play, try new sports, be outdoors. So it was that at the age of thirteen my brother learned to play football and during one of the many games he met a new friend, younger than only 6 months: Paolo Borsellino with whom he would have found himself on the benches of the University (Maria Falcone, 2012) . Falcone established a special partnership with Paolo Borsellino during the years of their professional activity, ultimately united by the same tragic destiny and an exemplary legacy that is still vivid today.

“Even today, twenty years later, this tree is always full of tickets and represents the symbol of the rebirth of Palermo society. It is around this tree that young people from all over Italy gather every year to remember the sacrifice of Giovanni, Francesca, Antonio, Vito and Rocco and also to testify their desire to continue to carry out their ideas…. ... it is not only the day of remembrance, but the goal, the point of arrival, the embrace of a country that works all year to not forget ".
