Grotta Geraci or Roccazzo
Roccazzo or Montagnola Rocca, as Rosario Palumbo calls it, a termitan scholar who discovered the inside of the cave, is a modest hill which, from the eastern side, bathed by the waters of the homonymous valley and bordered by rock walls, takes on the appearance of a fortress. Precisely on this side the cave opens, it is almost a large niche, completely emptied of the ancient filling, discovered and excavated in 1871 by the priest Palumbo. Other excavations by local scholars followed, some of which are preserved in the Termitan museum. Lastly he dug Emanuele Salinas,
whose results should have confirmed those of Palumbo already contested by Patiri. The excavation was carried out between 1916-17 and was not disclosed. Bovio Marconi gave the news of the finds that came from the Geraci Cave in 1944. In the Archaeological Museum “A. Salinas "houses flint and quartzite tools from the Epipaleolithic and clay fragments of various cultures: Neolithic with three-color decoration, Piano Conte, S. Cono, Conca d'Oro, Piano Notaro, Capo Graziano, Piano Quartana,
Malpasso. Deposit traces in place. (Text source: Giovanni Mannino: Guide to the Prehistory of Palermo - List of prehistoric sites in the province of Palermo - Sicilian Institute for Political and Economic Studies)
