Grotto of Fra Diavolo or Zubbio
The cavity develops downhill along a fracture about ten meters deep, with sinuous walls, 3-4 meters away. Inside the well, several landslides have created a sort of balcony on which some depositions are sealed by boulders and earth, on these the dripping has formed stalagmite columns. In 1996, in an excursion to the Carini Archeoclub, about a hundred fragments of terracotta were collected, practically frustules rendered such by high humidity and intense dripping. Only six fragments decorated in the style of Thapsos show some characteristics that allow us to associate them with a few others collected by us a few years earlier datable to the Middle Bronze Age, kept in the Archaeological Museum of Palermo. The cave then continues on the right along two parallel paths: a well of about 10 meters and a crack, both of which have no archaeological interest. The search for the village was unsuccessful.
