Brief description of the product: Dried fruit cake (walnuts, hazelnuts and almonds) in the shape of a mushroom. Description of the processing and maturing methods: Coarsely grind the previously shelled and toasted dried fruit, arrange it on a pastry board together with the white flour and add some muscat or marsala, eggs, sugar and chopped mandarin peels. Mix everything until you get a homogeneous mixture.

From the dough, make balls and work them with three fingers of one hand and the palm of the other until you get an upside-down mushroom.

 

Arrange the mushrooms on a baking tray and bake at 180 ° C for about 20 minutes.

Specific materials and equipment used for preparation and conditioning: No specific equipment.

Description of the processing, storage and maturing rooms: Bakery workshops and suitable domestic environments.

Elements proving that the methodologies have been practiced in a homogeneous way and according to traditional rules for a period of not less than 25 years: This is the oldest dessert in the town of Buccheri.
