Description

Fontana del Tauro - Taormina

The Fountain of the Minotaur, symbol of the city of Taormina is located in Piazza Duomo. Built in 1635 by a pupil of the Florentine sculptor Giovanni Angelo Montorsoli, it is placed on a circular base with three stone steps. Four semi-columns support a small basin on which the seahorse representing the Minotaur from which the water comes out is placed.
