Patronal Feast of the Most Holy Savior

 

It is a highly representative festival of Byzantine origin, handed down over the centuries, which takes place on August 18 in Militello Val di Catania. The effigy of the Savior sculpted by the sculptor Girolamo Bagnasco and enriched with a precious fercolo, constitutes an identity symbol icon for the local community.

On 12/05/2021 it was also included in the Register of Intangible Heritage of Sicily (REIS). In this regard, see the following press release from the Region:
