Feast of the Madonna dell'Alto

It is celebrated on 8 September. On the eve of the festival, the famous lights (bonfires) are lit in the city, in the countryside and on the beach. The morning winds through the city streets, a procession on a pilgrimage to the small Sanctuary of “Maronna di Avutu” (of the Madonna dell'alto) which is located on the top of Mount Bonifato.
