Farm Cultural Park

 

Farm Cultural Park is an art gallery and residence for artists located in Favara in the province of Agrigento. Since its opening, it has hosted temporary works by artists such as Sara Fratini, Massimo Sirelli, La Fille Bertha, and many others.

Founded on June 25th 2010 twigs notary Andrea Bartoli and his wife, thelawyer Florinda Saieva, stands inside the Bentivegna courtyard, an aggregate in turn made up of seven small courtyards that house small buildings and is located near the Old Town of Favara. In addition to how museum it is also proposed as a cultural and tourist center where they are set up international temporary paintings and permanent installations by contemporary art. In addition there are residences for artists and book presentations and various courses are held architecture. The main purpose of this project is to recover the entire historic center of Favara and transform the town into the second tourist attraction in the province of Agrigento after the Valley of the Temples. The three places that inspired this project are:

  • il Palais de Tokyodi Paris, seat of contemporary culture and also a place of entertainment;
  • Marrakechsquaremain of Morocco, a rather suggestive place full of entertainment and refreshments;
  • il marketdi Camden Town, where to buy objects of any kind and eat food from anywhere in the world;

In 2011 the museum won the Federculture Culture Management Award and the following year it was invited to the XXIII Venice International Architecture Exhibition. The 23 March 2013 the founder Andrea Bartoli was a guest at the transmission A morning in the family broadcast on Rai 1 and conducted by Tiberius Timperi e Miriam Leone, where he talked about this project. The blog British Purple Travel has placed the Farm Cultural Park and Favara in sixth place in the world as a tourist destination of contemporary art preceded by FlorenceParisBilbao,  islands of Greece e New York.
