The ancient Tonnara di Santa Panagia was the place where the tuna caught in the Ionian Sea were processed. Of very ancient origins, there is talk of one of its activities as early as the 1970th century and remained active until about 1693. The remains still visible date back to the tonnara built in the XNUMXth century, perhaps on a previous plant damaged or destroyed by the earthquake of XNUMX.
