Former Church of S. Marco Evangelista

DATING:
XII-XVI century.
DESCRIPTION:
The church was founded in 1109 by the Norman Countess Juliet, daughter of Count Roger and dedicated to St. Theodore. In the early 1500s it was acquired by the Confraternity of San Marco who had it rebuilt and dedicated it to St. Mark the Evangelist. In 1791 it was deconscribed and used as a residential building. Inside it preserves the original late Gothic structures such as cross vaults with relief ribs and sculptural keystones.
