Contrada S. Mauro - S. Mauro di Sopra

Remains of an indigenous village of the Neolithic age, destroyed by a fire and rebuilt with masonry houses. The village was inhabited until the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries BC. Greek settlement. Remains of houses and environments intended for commercial or artisanal activities have been identified.
Discovery of a vast Greek necropolis and traces of an early medieval presence. On the site it is also possible to place a castellucciano center dating back to the Ancient Bronze Age. (tab 75)
