Description

Contrada Foresta-Favalidda

The Foresta district is a flat area where the Sicula State Road 113 runs from km 281 to km 283 at the Forest junction; the land particularly downstream of the rolling stock was punctured by quarries of ashlars which intercepted dozens and dozens of "oven" tombs. The northern part of the land of the
Bivio Foresta, remembered by Antonio De Gregorio, has the name Cozzo Favalidda, was explored by Antonio Salinas who managed to recover several grave goods and an integral tomb with a twin cell that was cut and transported to the National Museum where it is buried in the main courtyard.
