CIT Territory Interpretation Centre

CIT Territory Interpretation Centre

It is the place of historical-cultural coordination and promotion of the village.

It intends to spread the era of "wellbeing" of the place, recover the memory, reclaim knowledge, restore models of synergy between man and the surrounding environment by exploiting the particularities of the place.

The CIT (Cultural Center for the Interpretation of the "Place") intends to fulfill this need, creating a bridge between the territory, its history, the communities that have inhabited it and the development policies, launching a new system of promotion and valorisation, a 'innovative possibility of offering and enjoying local heritage which is experiencing great and growing expectations throughout Europe.

The main objective is therefore to guarantee the re-appropriation of lost "knowledge" and the regaining of the awareness of belonging to a territory, its history and its environmental and socio-cultural peculiarities through:

_ the testimony of a way of building;

_ the opportunity to reread a historical phase in its economic, social, cultural, anthropological aspects, now distant but perhaps not yet totally dissipated;

_ the representation of an essential (perhaps even "humble") but wise material culture which allowed the founders to fully integrate with the surrounding environment in a man-activity-environment synergy, thriving for a long period and allowing today, despite a prolonged abandonment, to admire the quality and sustainability of the proposed environmental anthropization.

Faced with such a reality, the importance of valorization and recovery becomes evident, understood as activities aimed at recognizing the value of material and immaterial testimonies and the transmission of such values.

Even through the Parish Maps, the Community Map, which was created to give a meaning to the place of activities and the role of its inhabitants.

The CIT, "Centre for the interpretation of places", located in the sixteenth-century headquarters is responsible for carrying out these tasks.

The building was recovered respecting the original architectural integrity. The desire was to restore its most authentic appearance, dismantling, restoring and restoring the individual construction elements, such as wooden floors, terracotta floors and wooden beams, consolidating and reconstituting stone walls and plasters and respecting the stratifications of the

built, in line with the intervention philosophy.

Sophisticated plant and IT equipment has been integrated and hidden in the building to make it responsive to the needs of contemporary life.

Inside the CIT you can admire the finds of everyday life in the village, review phases of life and moments of celebration, observe salient circumstances of the life of the village through the exhibition panels.

The thematic itineraries depart from the CIT, with the aim of making people re-read the entire surrounding area and the activities that were practiced there.
