Church of Santo Stefano (or del Purgatorio) - Cefalù
The Church of Purgatorio, or Santo Stefano, overlooks a small square along Corso Ruggero. the façade is characterized by a Baroque style portal and a double staircase.
The interior has three naves distinguished by columns with monolithic stems. he church contains a crypt with the bodies of the members of the Confraternity of the Blacks (or of the Souls in Purgatory). Above the main altar a painting from 1813 is visible ("Christ who imparts the Eucharist to souls in pain").
