Church of Sant'Agata La Vetere
Piazza Sant'Agata la Vetere. The church of Sant'Agata la Vetere was built in the 500th century on the remains of a previous medieval church. Inside there are traces of Roman and medieval structures. The interior, with a single nave, presents many works. Immediately after the entrance, protected by a reliquary, there is the wooden chest which for over XNUMX years kept the remains of Saint Agatha. In the side altars there are paintings by Sicilian painters of the seventeenth century and a Sant'Agata con angelo and San Pietro by Antonio Pennisi. In the presbytery there is a marble sarcophagus of Agata with a Byzantine lid.
