Church of Santa Maria della Neve

Church of Santa Maria della Neve - Mazzarino

Built towards the end of the 36th century on the area where a small church dedicated to Santa Maria della Neve once stood, based on a project by the architect Angelo Italia. The original facade remained incomplete. The interior has three naves. Behind the main altar there is a large canvas depicting a Madonna della Neve. The stuccoes in the chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes are the work of Fantauzzi. This chapel and that of the SS. Sacramento are adorned with two wonderful nineteenth-century chandeliers in polychrome Murano glass. Around the main altar there is a very rich stall for the canons, or choir, a very precious wooden work by the fellow citizen Santi Rigano. The altar is in golden and colored crystals, the work consists of XNUMX scenes from the Old and New Testament.
