Church of Santa Maria del Gesù

Built in the XNUMXth century, on the remains of a previous church, for the Observant Franciscan Minor Friars. 
The façade in blocks, of mixed Gothic-Renaissance shapes, has an ogival and splayed portal, surmounted by a shell-shaped niche. The side entrance, there is a relief of the '400 with the scene of the Annunciation.

The interior, with three naves, with wooden trussed roofs, preserves valuable sculptures: a fifteenth-century Madonna with Child by the Tuscan Andrea Della Robbia, in glazed terracotta, placed in the left apse under a marble canopy by Antonello Gagini, from around 1516. , and, still below, a glazed terracotta by Andrea della Robbia, representing the Madonna and Child surrounded by angels. The marble main altar is the work of Francesco Lo Mastro (1624).

The interior also preserves paintings depicting San Domenico and San Francesco by V. Carreca, San Diego and the "Porziuncola" by Domenico La Bruna, and paintings depicting St. Elizabeth and the Virgin Mary, works attributed to Carreca.

Inside the church there are also the coat of arms of the Ciambra family and the sarcophagus of Giacomo Staiti.
