Church of San Giuliano
LOCATION: Piazza Vittoria in Porta Reale, on Via Garibaldi DATING 1927 DESCRIPTION The church was built on a project by Carmelo Unberto Angiolini. The muminous external hemispherical domes recall the Arab style, are enriched by merlons and fringes and by square turrets and streamlined by tri-perforated windows. Inside, the central nave is delimited by two series of pillars, which separate it from the two small side naves and overlooked by 6 altars on each side, delimited in turn by pillars that form as many chapels with a dome. Inside, the mosaic of the apse, depicting the Crucifix with St. Julian, the Virgin and St. Francis, by Luciano Bartoli, and an eighteenth-century canvas by an unknown artist depicting the martyrdom of St. Catherine of Alexandria.
