Church of S. Maria del Piliere or of the Angelini

Castellammare district. Piazza degli Angelini. Erected in the sixteenth century. At the behest of the Maestranza dei Calzettieri on the place where a wooden statue of the Madonna was found. Inside there are frescoes by Vito D'anna.
According to tradition it was founded in the place where there was a well with miraculous waters in which a wooden statue of the Madonna and Child was found (currently in the Diocesan Museum of Palermo)
