Church of S. Antonio da Padova
The Church of Sant'Antonio di Padova, also known as “Sant 'Antonino”, was built before 1600, in corso Consolo (name of the north-east district of Modica Alta), today via Principessa Maria del Belgio. The disastrous earthquake of 1693 had to destroy, at least in part, the old church, sparing the slender and high bell tower with the ritual loopholes; bell tower, which was rebuilt with a different style. The external facade is from the eighteenth century.
