Church of the Madonna della Tagliata
A country church dedicated to the Madonna had been built in 1634 in another area but it was decided to rebuild it on the current site in 1652, it was enlarged in the 1759th century, the portal of the church, surmounted by a small rectangular window, in fact presents a style typical baroque of the eighteenth century. A fair (Fiera della Tagliata) has been held near this church since XNUMX in September.
Curiosity
Legend has it that on the place where the first church was built, some workers in the tuff quarry "pirriatura" while extracting blocks of tuff, heard a voice repeating the phrase "cut, cut" and shortly after they found a jar in which inside there was a painting depicting a Madonna and Child, it was therefore decided to build a small church on the same site of the discovery. The painting was called "Madonna della Tagliata".
The painting was stolen in the early 900s and a painting by Mario Giammona from Trapani was placed in its place.
