Church of the Annunziata - Ispica
Description

Church of the Annunziata - Ispica

The church was built after the earthquake starting in 1704, replacing the homonymous building destroyed in the ancient Spaccaforno, now in the Forza park. Inside it preserves the rococo-style stucco decoration by Giuseppe Gianforma from Palermo and houses some works saved from the destruction of the earthquake: an "Adoration of the Magi" and a table of the "Annunciation" from 1550. It contains the eighteenth-century Christ with the Cross of the sculptor Guarino da Noto, a wooden sculptural group with Christ and two Jews, also the object of very particular devotion by the Ispicesis during Holy Week.
