Description

Church of Varò or of the Visitation - Taormina

The Church of Varò or of the Visitation dates back to the XNUMXth century, but its origin is probably even older, in fact inside the Church there is a crypt typical of the time when Christians were forced to hide in order to profess their faith. . Inside the church is made up of a single nave, on the altar there is a papier-mâché statue of the Madonna Addolorata. Externally it is not very artistic, but we note the main portal which is in Taormina stone and a small tower which is the bell tower of the Church.
