Church of SS. Heart of Jesus to the Capuchins

Of this church located in the populous Via Plebiscito, not far from the Vittorio Emanuele hospital, it is known that it was begun, together with the buildings of the adjacent convent, in early 1887 by Father Alessandro da Viagrande and that it was paid for by the Capuchin Friars of Province of Messina, with the offers of the faithful and with the proceeds from the exchange of the premises and the church of S. Maria della Speranza, demolished in the early decades of the twentieth century to make way for the current Palazzo della Borsa (the church still appears in a photo of 1913 taken on the occasion of the Agatini celebrations). The church of the Sacred Heart to the Capuchins was consecrated by Msgr. Ferrais in 1928.
