Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Description
Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (in Piazza Daniele Manin), built between the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century, has two important works inside: the Madonna della Medaglia, a canvas of extraordinary beauty, created by Giuseppe Mazzone in 1870 and the canvas of Saints Peter and Paul by an unknown artist from 1827.
The structural layout of the Madonna della Medaglia is underlined by classical harmonic lines in the relationship between the figure and the space, enriched by luminous coloristic vibrations, which stand out the figure of Mary in the foreground. In the second work of Saints Peter and Paul, naturalness and realism are captured which give the Saints figurative, religious and human monumentality, in which the formal research and the incidence of light are enhanced by the tonal variations and the chiaroscuro elements.
