Description

Church of Carmelo al Canalicchio

The church was built in the last years of the nineteenth century on the initiative of a devotee of the Madonna del Carmine who collected the offerings to start the construction of the temple. For decades, before the building expansion of Canalicchio, this was the only church in a territory that bordered with Sant'Agata li Battiati and extended up to the Tondo Gioeni. The land was donated by Commendatore Tommaso Tedeschi. The building suffered damage due to the war events of 1943.
