Catacombs of Contrada Cappuccini - Porticello
These are three small catacombs placed on the edge of the cliff that juts out into the sea near the so-called “porticello” in the Cappuccini district. One entered by an open staircase to the east in a cubicle surrounded on each side by arcosoles with respectively 8, 6, and 3 large polysomal sarcophagi carved into the rock. Violated in ancient times, only a few bones and fragments of a lamp were found
