Description

Gristia Castle

The ruins of the Gristia Castle are located a few kilometers north-east of the town on an isolated cliff of Monte Gristia which overlooks the valley of the Verdura river. In addition to the considerable piles of ruins, sections of the perimeter walls and the remains of partially underground structures are still visible today. During the reconnaissance of the area, despite the luxuriant vegetation, the presence of ceramic fragments scattered on the ground was found (fragments of glazed green ceramic) as well as the remains of the wall structures belonging to the castle.
