Battery Of Grace (Della Grazie Battery), Xgħajra

Built by the British between 1888 and 1893 with additions of structures during the Second World War. The battery takes its name from the previous tower of Wignacourt, the tower of Santa Maria delle Grazie which was located near the current battery. The tower was demolished to eliminate the fire field of the current battery. The battery was abandoned in 1910 However, during the Second World War the battery was used as a battery for coastal defense research.
