Photo: wikipedia
Location: Nadur, Gozo
The construction of the current basilica began in September 28, 1760 on a project by the Maltese architect Giuseppe Bonnici. The renovation of 1907 led to the construction of the naves, the dome and the facade in the Italian Renaissance style based on a design by FS Sciortino. The ceiling, frescoed with an episode from the life of St. Peter and St. Paul, was made by Lazzaro Pisani, while the architectural decorations were carried out by the Italian Pio Cellini.
