Baglio of Carini
Contrada Praineto, Chiusa Carburangeli (in the tablet read Cardillo), Baglio di Carini, Muro di Carini, settlement (Hikkara?)
These toponyms name a vast area that learned tradition identifies with ancient Hikkara . Since the 1960s, intense land development has destroyed the few archaeological remains believed to be from Hikkara, leaving a few walls leveled by mechanical shovels. Vittorio Giustolisi, an archaeology enthusiast who is responsible for many important discoveries, recently passed away, investigated them at length in the early 1970s, concluding: "The finds, therefore, although they reveal an occupation of the site since the 3rd century BC, for the most part reveal a late Roman, Byzantine and Arab phase."
