Sacred Area of Monte Grande
Description

Sacred Area of Monte Grande

The site covers a huge sacred area that extends over a hill near the coast at Punta Bianca and thanks to its strategic position dominates a vast territory. There are the remains of a large castellucciano sanctuary consisting of large circular enclosures within which numerous votive objects consecrated to cults of the fertility of the earth were deposited. The grandeur of the sacred complex is certainly the testimony of the importance of the site.
