Area of Fragments of Contrada Fermenti
At a distance of just 400 m from the area described in the RC_18 sheet, also north of the Canicattì-Racalmuto route, we find a large area just over one hectare affected by the presence of ceramic fragments, scattered according to a low density of concentration.
The area is crossed vertically by a small road, and is naturally delimited to the south by the CanicattìRacalmuto route, to the east and west by two access roads to private properties and to the north by the edge of the plateau. The land is cultivated half with arable land and half with vineyards, however in both cases the visibility is good. The cocciame found suggests a period of frequentation of the site that covers a period of time ranging from the Roman to the Byzantine era. In particular, among the few fragments that we can consider diagnostic there are a cup fr.to with a flat brim of the Hayes 34 type datable between the end of the 104nd and the beginning of the XNUMXrd century AD; a bottom plate of the Hayes XNUMXB type datable to the XNUMXth century AD;
