Wolf pit equipped area

Coming from Roccalumera, after passing the first equipped area you meet, that of Nocifolio, continuing along the dirt road about 1 km from the first you reach the Fossa Lupo area marked by appropriate signs engraved on wood The area, very small , consists of only 3 accommodation facilities including wooden benches and tables of particular rustic invoice located in a very panoramic position on the north side of the Peloritani Mountains. The equipped area in question will be strengthened and expanded as soon as possible because it is a destination for many day-trippers and hikers throughout the summer. The wooded cover includes Mediterranean pine, chestnut and oak species.

The information on the equipped state-owned areas has as its main source the website of the Regional Forestry Department of Sicily (continuously updated) to which is added a very interesting brochure entitled "The State Equipped Areas in Sicily" of the same department published in 1999 with the Editorial Coordination of the 8th Group - Promotion, Development and Research, editors Agostino Gatto and Valeria Restuccia. Further information was obtained from direct access to the areas and from interviews with experts and operators in the sector.
