Zingaro state-owned equipped area - Capreria

Within the first Natural Reserve of Sicily, an equipped area is strongly inserted in the environmental context.
Made in one of the entrances, and precisely in Scopello, by means of special paths, it can be accessed either from the parking area or from the tunnel. After a morning spent by the sea or on the beach or along the paths of the reserve with the opportunity to see and almost taste something truly natural: pure air, the color of nature and tranquility, there was the need to offer people an area where you can rest, enjoy the coolness and the sea breeze. This is how this equipped area was created different from all the others on the island, with the placement above the wooden benches and tables, and only in the summer period, of a characteristic "canopy" that reminds us of the "pinnate" of the old country houses. Many tables, many chairs, many waste collection points, a cooking place made in a recess in the rock and more are the hospitality offered to visitors and, why not, also to the admirers of nature and ancient things; the nature reserve wanted to stop time in this area to remind us all of the industriousness of our ancestors.

The information on the equipped state-owned areas has as its main source the website of the Regional Forestry Department of Sicily (continuously updated) to which is added a very interesting brochure entitled "The State Equipped Areas in Sicily" of the same department published in 1999 with the Editorial Coordination of the 8th Group - Promotion, Development and Research, editors Agostino Gatto and Valeria Restuccia. Further information was obtained from direct access to the areas and from interviews with experts and operators in the sector.
