Pianetti state-owned equipped area

From Gratteri follow the road towards Gibilmanna. After about 5 Km. You will arrive at a crossroads with the indication Contrada Pianetti-Piano delle Fate and road signs indicating the directions for (lean, Castelbuono, Collesano and Cefalù. We are on a plateau and the equipped area is right here in front to us. Under large and majestic oak trees there are some wooden benches and seats that currently represent the only infrastructures of the equipped area. This is being rearranged and will be built just upstream from the current location but always in the Pianetti area.
The surrounding landscape is very suggestive, made up mainly of downy oaks and many, many wild pear trees.
The wood reigns supreme in this small but certainly beautiful equipped area and almost an antechamber of the Madonite wood.
The area is a very popular destination for tourists, hikers and hikers, both for the accessibility of the places, but mainly for the possibility that it offers to be able to breathe clean air.
From Pianetti it is possible to undertake excursions in the entire surrounding wooded complex, towards Pizzo Sant'Angelo, Gibilmanna and delight in picking mushrooms or berries in the right seasons.

The information on the equipped state-owned areas has as its main source the website of the Regional Forestry Department of Sicily (continuously updated) to which is added a very interesting brochure entitled "The State Equipped Areas in Sicily" of the same department published in 1999 with the Editorial Coordination of the 8th Group - Promotion, Development and Research, editors Agostino Gatto and Valeria Restuccia. Further information was obtained from direct access to the areas and from interviews with experts and operators in the sector.
