Parco Ronza state-owned equipped area
From Enna, on the road to Piazza Armerina reachable from Pergusa or from the Mulinello exit on the A-19-PA-CT, about 12 Km. From the first or about 22 from the second, on the left, after having entered the high-trunk forest of eucalyptus and pines, on the left you will find the indication "Area equipped Ronza" characterized by a forest gate. Walk another 200 meters and reach the parking area of this equipped area, the destination of our trip.
Pines, eucalyptus and locust trees both on the right and on the left are the first visiting card of this area. After parking the car, you enter through another gate and along an avenue about 150 meters long you arrive at the real equipped area, which covers about 3 hectares. Tables, benches, fountains, cooking points, toilets and appropriate signage are some of the structures in the area that in the space of a few years has become an obligatory destination for school trips and hikers in general.
Attached to the area, a wildlife area has been created with fallow deer, wild boar, birds of various species in a large aviary, all to make the area more welcoming and a more pleasant stay. Among the Sicilian picnic areas, Ronza is the most popular area ever.

Note on Sources
The information on the equipped state-owned areas has as its main source the Internet site of the Regional Forestry Department of Sicily (constantly updated) to which is added a very interesting brochure entitled "The State Equipped Areas in Sicily" of the same department published in 1999 with the Editorial Coordination of the 8th Group - Promotion, Development and Research, editors Agostino Gatto and Valeria Restuccia. Further information was obtained from direct access to the areas and from interviews with experts and operators in the sector.
