Pantano state-owned equipped area
From Colle San Rizzo, after passing the Forestry Detachment, in the direction of Castanea, at about 3 Km. You reach the restaurant "La Pineta". The equipped area was built in the immediate vicinity of this premises in state-owned clod located under the highway. Leave the car in the parking area near the restaurant, the equipped area can only be reached on foot, covering a hundred meters. At the moment it consists of some merry-go-rounds, swings and slides because benches and tables that have already been vandalized several times. Despite the scarce receptivity of the area, there is a considerable influx of visitors attracted by the coolness of the places and the goodness of the air. Note on Sources
The information on the equipped state-owned areas has as its main source the website of the Regional Forestry Department of Sicily (continuously updated) to which is added a very interesting brochure entitled "The State Equipped Areas in Sicily" of the same department published in 1999 with the Editorial Coordination of the 8th Group - Promotion, Development and Research, editors Agostino Gatto and Valeria Restuccia. Further information was obtained from direct access to the areas and from interviews with experts and operators in the sector.
