Menta state-owned equipped area
Coming from the state road n. 118 Corleonese-Agrigentina, before arriving at the Municipality of Burgio, less than 3 Km., On the left a road first asphalted and then white classified "regia trazzera" will allow us to reach the wooded complex of S. Adriano, owned by the state and partly municipal, located on the border with the province of Palermo in the magnificent Sosio River Valley. Following this artery, after about 5 Km. Partly in the middle of the wood and partly outside it, a road on the right will lead us to the equipped area which is the destination of our journey. If, on the other hand, we take the road on the left by mistake, we will go too far into the wooded area without reaching the equipped area. The area was created in a plant of Mediterranean pines mixed with natural holm oaks whose function was to prepare the soil for the definitive wood of oak species. Cooking points, tables, benches, toilets, fountains with water and a parking lot are the infrastructures that are found there to make the day outdoors more comfortable for the many visitors who reach it, in particular groups of scouts who follow one another in summer continuously.
The beauty of the places and the wooded complex are indescribable and along the roads built inside the wood it is possible to make excursions to the ruins of the Monastery of S. Adriano which gave the wooded complex its name.

Note on Sources
The information on the equipped state-owned areas has as its main source the website of the Regional Forestry Department of Sicily (continuously updated) to which is added a very interesting brochure entitled "The State Equipped Areas in Sicily" of the same department published in 1999 with the Editorial Coordination of the 8th Group - Promotion, Development and Research, editors Agostino Gatto and Valeria Restuccia. Further information was obtained from direct access to the areas and from interviews with experts and operators in the sector.
