Magaggiaro state-owned equipped area
In Magaggiaro in the municipality of Menfi, the equipped area occupies an area of about 4 hectares and is inserted within a pine forest, at a height of 360 meters above sea level With about 220 seats it has a large gate entrance hall, ample parking, children's toys, bowling green, 16 rustic stone tables, as many fire points and many fountains. It is characterized by the presence of a particular local stone, which with its bizarre and sometimes artistic forms has been wisely used within the equipped area itself. The two bathrooms, one for the disabled, can be reached through a stone road, the latter leads to a small square with a large fountain and finally to a small church made entirely of local stone with 50 seats, an altar and a statue of the Madonna protected by a solid stone dome. The area can be reached from Menfi on the SP for Montevago at about three km., Highlighted by a forest gate and related signs.

The information on the equipped state-owned areas has as its main source the Internet site of the Regional Forestry Department of Sicily (constantly updated) to which is added a very interesting brochure entitled "The State Equipped Areas in Sicily" of the same department published in 1999 with the Editorial Coordination of the 8th Group - Promotion, Development and Research, editors Agostino Gatto and Valeria Restuccia. Further information was obtained from direct access to the areas and from interviews with experts and operators in the sector.
