Description

Erbe Verdi state-owned equipped area

Along the road to Dinnammare, about 7 km on the right, you will find the equipped area of Green Herbs, made up of various accommodation facilities which will be restored as soon as possible. This is to allow a better usability by the many hikers and hikers. An expansion is also planned to offer greater comforts to vacationers. The tree cover, which represents the natural vault of this equipped area, is made up of Mediterranean pines and in particular of maritime pines other than the domestic pines that predominate throughout the Peloritani area. This is the last equipped area before Dinnammare, the highest point of the Peloritani characterized by the many radio-TV repeaters that are found there. From this point you can see wooded plots of black pine, a pine typical of mountain areas. The scenic beauty of the places is indescribable as it is rare to admire both the Tyrrhenian side and the Ionian side and the Strait of Messina and the Calabrian coasts. Sky, sea, woods and nature are the natural scenery that are worth savoring.
From this altitude, about 1120 meters above sea level, practically all the Peloritani mountains that we crossed to reach the “equipped area of Erbe Verdi” are dominated.

Further information was obtained from direct access to the areas and from interviews with experts and operators in the sector.
