State Equipped Area: Camisa
Starting from Randazzo, head towards Cesarò. After about 4,5 Km., On the SS n. 120, you arrive at the bridge over the Flascio River. From here follow the signs towards the Vivaio Flascio and after about 2,5 km you will arrive at the homonymous Forestry Property whose entrance is marked by a large gate. The equipped area, the destination of our trip, is located about a kilometer inside this forest property, a beautiful wood
deciduous oaks and downy oaks in particular. The entrance to the area is allowed on foot, leaving the car outside the gate, but upon authorization, for particular and proven needs, it is possible to enter, to be requested from the IRFE of Catania. The beauty of the places and the species of plants and fauna that can be encountered will satisfy us for the effort incurred to reach this area. Poplars, cypresses, pines and mainly many beautiful downy oaks are the most widespread tree species that make up the wooded cover of this locality and no less interesting is the composition of the undergrowth rich in multicolored flowers, from cyclamen to daisies, from brooms to rock roses, etc. .
In this environmental context, the equipped area of Camisa was created in order to allow nature lovers and mainly to the many and numerous groups of scouts who alternate in the summer, coming from all over Sicily, to stop in the woods. Tables and benches, several cooking points, fountains with water, wash basins and toilets are the facilities that are located there. Two areolas with tables and benches were built under a roof as a "gazebo". The happy position, on the border between the provinces of Messina and Catania, and the clean air have made this area a very popular destination, being also considered as a base point for excursions to the southwestern side of the Nebrodi and Lake Trearie. The equipped area and the State Property are part of the Park territory.

The information on the equipped state-owned areas has as its main source the website of the Regional Forestry Department of Sicily (continuously updated) to which is added a very interesting brochure entitled "The State Equipped Areas in Sicily" of the same department published in 1999 with the Editorial Coordination of the 8th Group - Promotion, Development and Research, editors Agostino Gatto and Valeria Restuccia.
