Camaro state-owned equipped area

On the directrix for Dinnammare, about 1,2 Km. On the left, take a dirt road that traveled for about 500 meters will lead us to the equipped area, the destination of our journey. It was built on the site of a previous forest nursery, in a rather happy and panoramic position and made up of various accommodation facilities: benches, tables, cooking points, swings, etc. they are what you find there to spend a rustic holiday, under a very unique tree cover with acacias that stand at the same height as the domestic pines. Along the same dirt road, about 500 meters from the previous one, another equipped area was created separated from the first but identifiable with the same name as the first (one could say Camaro 1 and Camaro 2) and which represents a sort of expansion area of the first. This area was built under unique chestnut stumps, in state-owned land bordering the so-called "Old Forest of Camaro" a natural wood, perhaps of ancient plant, but certainly the oldest wooded area of the whole Peloritani complex and composed mostly from mixed oak species to Mediterranean conifers. This is the most beautiful equipped area of the whole complex of the Peloritani Mountains.

Note on Sources

The information on the equipped state-owned areas has as its main source the website of the Regional Forestry Department of Sicily (continuously updated) to which is added a very interesting brochure entitled "The State Equipped Areas in Sicily" of the same department published in 1999 with the Editorial Coordination of the 8th Group - Promotion, Development and Research, editors Agostino Gatto and Valeria Restuccia. Further information was obtained from direct access to the areas and from interviews with experts and operators in the sector.
