Buonanotte state-owned equipped area

In the pre-reserve area of the RNO: "Monte Cammarata", at the foot of Pizzo della rondine, on which downy oaks and other endemic species cling, stands the equipped area "Buonanotte" among the pines. A peculiarity of the area is the presence of tables and benches made of local single-block stone. The rather flat area lends itself to the easy use of the disabled. Numerous paths branch off from the “Buonanotte” area which, reaching panoramic points, strips of natural wood, the Hermitage of S. Rosalia alla Quisquina, artifacts of minor rural architecture, allow visitors to visit the RNO. In addition, the Frances Montaignes horse farm managed by the Regional Department of State Forests can be visited nearby.

How to reach the area:

On the main road cammarata Santo Stefano Quisquina, take the detour that indicates the presence of the equipped area, a tree-lined avenue will lead to Buonanotte.

The information on the equipped state-owned areas has as its main source the website of the Regional Forestry Department of Sicily (continuously updated) to which is added a very interesting brochure entitled "The State Equipped Areas in Sicily" of the same department published in 1999 with the Editorial Coordination of the 8th Group - Promotion, Development and Research, editors Agostino Gatto and Valeria Restuccia.
