Description

Contrada Sichilli archaeological area

The area, although lacking in structures referable to a stable presence in the Greek age, has returned, during the reconnaissance, a fair number of ceramic fragments dating back to the second half of the sixth century. BC and the first half of the fifth century. BC Due to the morphological characteristics of the area,
placed on a promontory in front of the canal entrance of the roveto quagmire, it is possible to suppose that here there was an interchange center with the internal region and passage along the coastal strip

Area of archaeological interest, art. 142 letter m) Legislative Decree 42/04
